Reforms implemented by the Greek government will help American business people feel more confident about investing here, US Assistant Secretary of State for Economic and Business Affairs Manisha Singh said at a meeting with Alternate Economy and Development Minister Alexis Charitsis in Athens on Monday.
According to a ministry statement, Charitsis briefed the visiting State Dept official on investment opportunities in the country and on the EquiFund, a Greek initiative using state and EU funds to provide support for small and medium-sized enterprises, in which she showed great interest.
Singh said there was a great opportunity to enhance economic collaboration between the two countries, while Charitsis spoke of the Thessaloniki International Fair in September, where the US is honored country, and called it the first great economic event following the country's completion of its adjustment programs.
