The Nicos Poulantzas Institute, in cooperation with the European United Left/Nordic Green Left European parliamentary group (GUE/NGL), and MEP Stelios Kouloglou, organize a film festival centered around the theme “Breaking the cycle of corruption – The role of public interest whistle blowers”.

The festival will take place on Saturday and Sunday, April 1-2, at 18:00, at the TRIANON cinema (21 Codrigton & 101 Patision st., Victoria metro station).

The movies featuring in the festival are:

-A leak in Paradise, by David Leloup, about the life of whistleblower Rudolf Elmer following his decision to reveal the secrets of Swiss bank Julius Bär.
Rudolf Elmer will attend the screening, and address questions by the audience following it.
-Citizenfour, by Laura Poitras
-Whistleblowers, the modern heroes, by Stelios Kouloglou
–A Good American, by Friedrich Moser

On Saturday, April 1, at 19:30, the festival’s opening day includes a public discussion to take place at the festival’s TRIANON venue, on the subject of:

Whistleblowers’ protection: A weapon against corruption, and its importance for the treatment of multinationals’ tax avoidance.
