On January 1 and 6, 2018, there will be changes in the Athens Public Transport Network, while there will be a suspension of certain routes on the railway network.

Buses and trolleybuses will follow a Sunday schedule while on Tuesday, January 2, a “Saturday” schedule will be implemented on the urban transportation network.

The airport buses will operate normally on the 7-day scheduled program.

Also, TRAINOSE SA, like every year, on New Year’s Eve and Day will suspend the circulation of certain local network routes, suburban routes as well as certain routes on the Athens-Thessaloniki axis.

Passengers, however, who will be traveling during this period and have already purchased tickets from physical points of sale, are entitled to a refund of the ticket price either in cash or in the form of a “coupon”. For passengers who have purchased their tickets on the internet, the reimbursement is made directly to their credit card.

Meanwhile, road safety measures are in place for safer vehicle traffic and improved road traffic during New Year’s Eve, while a police charge and a ban on truck traffic will apply to a load of more than 1.5 tons.
