Following the great success and enthusiasm with which it was received by children and parents alike during the 2016 Athens and Epidaurus Festival, the cultural institution’s creative childcare initiative has been operating this year as well. Aimed at children aged 4-12, and aspiring to provide for them a creative outlet during the time when their parents are taking in a performance at the Epidaurus ancient theater, the program will be offered for the Festival’s four remaining Epidaurus performances (Medea: August 4-5; The Persians: August 11-12).
The theater, movement, music and painting workshops themes are derived each time from the thematic axis of the different performances, distinguishing between modules according to the children’s age, helping children and parents share a common theatrical experience through different viewpoints.
Taking place at the Epidaurus Xenia, the childcare program starts at 8.00 pm on the days of each performance, and goes on until the end of the show.
Admission per child: €5
Reduced rates apply for children of the unemployed and large families.
