Archbishop Ieronymos II of Athens has announced that the Church of Greece will participate in the demonstration of February 4th, in Athens, to protest against the use of the term “Macedonia” in the name of FYROM. The Archbishop explained that the Church will participate in the demonstration on condition that it will be peaceful and will not bear any political or party identity.

In addition, he stated that the Church will be represented by the vice-president of the Holy Synod, the Metropolitan of Syros Dorotheos II. The above were announced after the coordinators of the demonstration met with Archbishop Ieronymos.
