In the next Eurogroup of June 21, the necessary decisions ensuring Greece’s successful exit from the program will be made, Eurogroup President Mário Centeno stated on Thursday. Regarding the debt issue, Mr. Centeno explained that Thursday’s Eurogroup exchanged views on the debt relief measures that will be implemented after the program, and that deliberations will continue at staff level.
On his part, Managing Director of the European Stability Mechanism (ESM) Klaus Regling stated that an analysis on the sustainability of Greece’s debt is being prepared. The staff-level agreement paves the way for the last disbursement of the program loans to Greece, he added, stressing that the tranche of 1 billion euros is still pending and is available until mid-June.
