Prime Minister Mr. Alexis Tsipras featured the detention of two NATO soldiers by another NATO country for more than four months for accidentally crossing the borders by a few meters and without even being officially charged as a problem of the entire NATO, and urged Turkey to proceed to the immediate release of the two.

The Greek Prime Minister also raised the issue of Turkish provocation, saying that the fact that our neighbor insists on violating international law in the region and seeks to exclude the Aegean from operational plans at the expense of the our collective capabilities is a problem of the Alliance.

Regarding the role of Greece in NATO, the Prime Minister stated that our country will remain a key regional pillar of stability, contributing to its long-lasting, consistent and stable role in collective and regional security.
