In an exclusive interview on ERT, European Commission Vice-President Valdis Dombrovskis referred to the period after the end of Greece’s program, saying that Greece needs a significant cash reserve so that its gradual return to the markets is ensured. He also considers important that responsible fiscal and macroeconomic policies be implemented and certain long-term debt measures be taken, currently discussed, for debt servicing to be totally limited.

The form of cooperation with the IMF will be discussed in the next days, said Mr. Dombrovskis, adding, “We must expect the IMF to keep playing a role in the period after the end of the program, as it is also a matter of credibility for the markets.”
