Police on Thursday announced the dismantling of a multi-member ring of drug dealers operating on the island of Rhodes, saying that hundreds have been implicated in connection with its activities.

Seven people have been arrested so far and two others, alleged to be among the leaders of the gang, are being sought. Police said that 271 people, most of them identified, will be charged in connection with the case.

Six of the individuals arrested are residents of Rhodes and the seventh is a 38-year old Albanian national. The suspects will be led before a Rhodes public prosecutor.
