"The interview of Turkish President (Tayyip Recep Erdogan) causes great concern. We hope that it will not prejudge his visit to Greece," main opposition New Democracy (ND) Shadow Foreign Minister Giorgos Koumoutsakos said in a statement on Thursday.

"The insistence on calling into question the Treaty of Lausanne, which is the cornerstone for stability and security in the Aegean and throughout the region of the Mediterranean, as well as suggestions to the independent Greek justice, erodes the efforts to improve our bilateral relations," Koumoutsakos noted adding that "Erdogan's interview raises serious questions and doubts about how this visit has been prepared by the government and the foreign ministry."
