FIFA and UEFA urged the Hellenic Football Federation (EPO) to adopt strict measures after the incidents that occured in Toumba stadium at the PAOK-AEK match for the Greek Super League.
A few hours before an extraordinary press conference at EPO's headquarters in Athens by Herbert Hubel, FIFA chairman of the monitoring committee for the Greek Football Association, FIFA and UEFA official stated their positions to the Athens-Macedonian News Agency (ANA).
"UEFA condemns the recent incident in Greek football. Provided that the incidents occured in a domestic league, the penalty will imposed by the local autority, namely the Hellenic Football Federation," an UEFA official told ANA.
FIFA's head of communication Thayssa Bravo Plum declined to make statements on the talks underway between FIFA and Greece on the Toumba incidents before FIFA's press conference in Athens, but underlined that "EPO must impose strict measures very quickly" and re-introduce the penalty of exclusion from future games.
