Greece’s foreign ministry on Wednesday said that it ?warmly welcomes? the meeting held in Singapore between U.S. President Donald Trump and North Korean leader Kim Jong-un on the denuclearisation of the Korean peninsula.

?We warmly welcome the summit meeting between the leaders of the United States of America and the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea, in Singapore, and the express commitment by both sides to work together towards the full denuclearisation of the Korean peninsula and the consolidation of stability and security in the wider region, following decades of tensions.

?Greece considers respect for International Law and the principle of peaceful resolution of disputes as the cornerstone of its foreign policy. As such, it will continue to support all efforts towards a diplomatic solution for the full and permanent denuclearisation of the Korean peninsula, as well as the prevention of proliferation of nuclear weapons and related technologies, of which it is a longstanding proponent,? a ministry announcement said.
