Police arrested 11 individuals, including four under-18s, during the clashes that took place on Wednesday evening in and around the Athens district of Exarchia. The violence erupted after the end of a rally in Athens to mark the ninth anniversary since the murder of high-school student Alexis Grigoropoulos by a police officer in 2008.

Eight of the individuals arrested are Greek (three of them minors) and three are foreign nationals (an under-aged Romanian, an 18-year Albanian and a 26-year old Italian).

Another 26 individuals were detained and three police officers were slightly injured.
