Greek Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras is meeting, on Friday, European Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker, German Chancellor Angela Merkel and Bulgarian Prime Minister Boyko Borisov, to discuss the refugee issue, within the scope of the Summit in Brussels, held amidst a dividing atmosphere among Europeans.

Mr. Tsipras underlined that Greece will not accept the proposition of European Council President Donald Tusk, according to which the quota in receiving refugees and immigrants by EU member states should be abolished, as this impedes the management of refugee flows and also puts the future of the EU at risk, since it undermines the notion of solidarity. German Chancellor Angela Merkel stated that Tusk’s proposition is not respectable, while French President Emmanuel Macron stressed that it is not the time to review decisions already made with regard to the migration – refugee issue.
