Addressing the European Parliament’s Committee on Foreign Affairs in Brussels on Wednesday, FYROM’s Foreign Minister Nikola Dimitrov expressed the determination of FYROM’s government to win the referendum of September 30th regarding the agreement of Prespes.

Mr. Dimitrov also expressed his satisfaction about the fact that many EU countries recognize the progress made in his country in the sectors of the rule of law, public administration and anti-corruption. In addition, he stressed that the Balkans are not a region of the EU, but “an islet within the EU” that ensures peace and prosperity in Europe.

Referring to the referendum, he stated that this is not an issue of political parties, left-wing or right-wing parties, but it is about the future of his country itself and about building relations of friendship in an area that needs it.
