At 16:00 the Greek government will put up a crucial fight in Luxembourg regarding conclusion of the second review and the major issue of debt settlement. On Wednesday, the government made clear that it is likely to refer the issue to the Summit should it not be satisfied with the deal. In any case, all sides are pressing so that a final decision is made on Thursday.
The French proposal, i.e. that debt should be linked to growth, is currently opposed by Berlin which however says it is possible for the proposal to be discussed in 2018. “We are deciding behind closed doors the fate of 11 million people”, said European Commissioner Pierre Moscovici to Politico news website. It is time we take our responsibility, he added.
