Another Greek wine roadshow that took place in Australia has concluded and the feedback seems to be positive. Evidence suggests that the promotion of Greek wine in Australia is on the right track, with an increase of 20% in exports over the past three years.
Also, the perception of the qualitative characteristics of Greek wine among the country’s consumer audiences is gradually being consolidated. It is indicative that in an Adelaide survey, 67% of those who tasted Greek wine have unreservedly rated it as high quality.
Two additional elements reinforcing expectations for further improvement of the position of Greek wine within the Australian market, are the increasing participation of wine consumers and professionals in the promotional events taking place under the program, as well as the growing interest of Australian media regarding Greek events.
This year’s events ran from 7 to 25 June and were held in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and Adelaide.
