Greece's industrial import price index grew 3.8 pct in August compared with the same month in 2016, after a 0.7 pct decline recorded in the 2016/2015 period, Hellenic Statistical Authority said on Friday.

The statistics service, in a monthly report, attributed this development in the so-called imported inflation to a 0.8 pct increase in the import price index from Eurozone countries and a 6.7 pct increase in the index from countries outside the Eurozone.

The index was unchanged in August from July 2017, after a 0.4 pct increase recorded in the same period in 2016.
