New Democracy President Kyriakos Mitsotakis strongly criticized the Prime Minister with regard to the Novartis scandal. “In a democracy, justice cannot wear a hood in front of representatives of the Greek people. I demand that Novartis case be promptly clarified. But without hoods”, said Mr. Mitsotakis referring to the protected witnesses who have accused politicians, mainly from New Democracy party, of graft.
The Prime Minister’s Press Office accused in turn the New Democracy President that he is trying to intimidate the witnesses, the prosecutors, the judicial officers and the Greek justice itself. “Justice, just as democracy, is not coerced or manipulated, and it will not abandon the seeking of the truth out of fear for retaliation that the opposition leader has announced”, it stressed.
