The 8th Inter-University Seminar for Sustainable Growth, Culture and Tradition will start on June 25 on the island of Syros.

The digitisation of cultural heritage, the public sphere as an arena for expressing collective consciousness, virtual reality and the digital games for promoting and disseminating culture, as well as smart cities as a vehicle for promoting cultural identity, will be among the issues of the seminar.

Its aim is to act as trigger for promoting and developing a critical dialogue on the use of digital information and technology in culture and cultural management.

The seminar is held with the support of the General Secretariat of Information and Media and is co-organised by the Institute for Sustainable Growth, Culture and Tradition, the School of Architecture of the National Technical University of Athens (Metsovio Polytechnic), The Polytechnic School of the University of Aegean, the Informatics department of the University of Piraeus, the Southern Aegean regional authority and the Municipality of Ermoupolis, Syros.
