Shipping Minister Panagiotis Kouroumblis said that "attempts to involve my name in the Novartis scandal has nothing to do with the reality" speaking to Athens-Macedonian News Agency on Saturday.

"In the last days there were some that tried to involve me in the Novartis scandal. I can't understand how someone is accused because he attended a meeting in which participated 17 businessmen, something that confirms the European Business Review that organised the event".

Moreover, Kouroumblis showed a letter signed by the magazine's chief editor Peter Kramer saying that Kouroumblis was invited to address the event "Thinking Forward Event" organised by the European Business Review on April 30, 2015 at the Grande Bretagne hotel in Athens.

The chief editor also said that among the participants that represented several sectors of the Greek industry was Constantinos Frouzis (former vice president of Novartis Hellas) who represented the Hellenic Association of Pharmaceutical Companies.
