New Democracy condemned the furlough granted to 17 November terrorist Dimitris Koufodinas on Tuesday, saying "it's unfathomable that the state is blackmailed by a murderer going on a hunger strike."

The main opposition party said that when it returns to power "it will immediately abolish the despicable Paraskevopoulos law, and unrepentant terrorists like Koufodinas will not be granted furloughs from jail."
