The Greek post office (ELTA) have issued a new stamp to commemorate May 20, International Bee Day.

The EU-wide effort aims at raising public awareness for the pivotal role bees and other insects play in maintaining biodiversity, and at issuing a warning about their rapidly decreasing populations.

The stamps were presented on Wednesday with the collaboration of the Beekeeping Environmental Society of Saronicos Island "To Kentri", and the presence of local government officials and deputies as well as Slovenian Ambassador Anita Pipan and Alternate Agriculture Minister George Tsironis.
