The Hellenic Statistical Authority (ELSTAT) announced on Friday the results of the Survey on Museums and Archaeological Sites Attendance for May 2018.

More specifically:

In May 2018 compared with the corresponding month of 2017, Museums experienced an 18.2 pct increase in the number of visitors and a 20.2 pct increase in the number of free admission visitors as well as an 18.7 pct increase in their receipts.

In May 2018 compared with the corresponding month of 2017, the number of visitors at archaeological sites recorded an increase of 21.5 pct, while an increase of 28.8 pct was observed in the number of free admission visitors and an 18.5 pct increase in the corresponding receipts.

During the five-month period from January to May 2018, an increase of 9.2 pct was observed in the number of visitors of Museums, while an increase of 5.5 pct was recorded in the number of free admission visitors and a 14.3 pct increase in the relevant receipts, in comparison with the corresponding period of 2017.

As regards archaeological sites, during the five-month period from January to May 2018, an increase of 19.4 pct was recorded in the number of visitors, while a 15.1 pct increase was observed in the number of free admission visitors and a 20.0 pct increase in the relevant receipts, in comparison with the corresponding period of 2017.
