Following yesterday’s strike, the Panhellenic Maritime Federation announced a new 24-hour strike for today.

Ship owners are requesting the signing of collective agreements with a 5% increase for cabin crew.

The Panhellenic Maritime Federation stated that the sailors not only have not had a raise for 8 consecutive years, but thanks to their hard work for which they were not being paid for months, they managed to keep the shipping companies upright and the transport unhindered.

According to the Association of Passenger Ship Operators, which counters an increase of 2%, the strike has caused serious problems in the supply of the islands, but also in the passenger movements, as approximately 180,000 people are being transported to and from the Aegean islands.
