President Prokopios Pavlopoulos hailed the consistency with which Greece and Poland follow their European path and defend the European future, having a stronger European Union as their vision, during an official dinner in honour of visiting Polish counterpart Andrzej Duda in Athens on Monday.

Pavlopoulos said that Greece had actively contributed to Poland’s accession to the EU, adding that "we are now ready to fight together for the European Union's definitive recognition so that it is strong enough to cope with the major challenges it faces."

He also said that today's reality demonstrates that the strengthening of the Common Foreign and Security Policy axis will play a key role in the process of European integration, demonstrating the important institutional and political gaps, which did not allow it to intervene actively as it should in world affairs due to the war in the Middle East.
