The government’s efforts, at higher diplomatic level, regarding the two Greek military officers who remain in custody in Edirne, intensify. Greece wishes friendship and good-neighborliness with Turkey, and supports Turkey’s European course, but the respect of borders should mean respect of International Law, of Lausanne and Paris Treaties, and of the International Law of the Sea, stressed President of the Hellenic Republic Prokopis Pavlopoulos from Nisyros, where he attended the festivities for the 70th anniversary of the integration of the Dodecanese with Greece.

On his part, alternate Foreign Minister Giorgos Katrougalos warned that if Turkey uses the two military officers as pawns in the diplomatic chessboard, Greece will react in a way that will make Turkey regret it.
