On Monday, Greek Foreign Minister Nikos Kotzias and his US counterpart Mike Pompeo met in Washington to discuss US-Greek relations, as well as the leading role of the Greek foreign policy in promoting regional cooperation and strengthening stability in the broader area. The two Ministers agreed to establish a US-Greek strategic dialogue in important sectors of cooperation, such as security, energy and technology.
Mr. Kotzias stressed the need to ensure security and stability in the area, and elaborated on Turkey’s misconduct. On his part, Mr. Pompeo stated that the US are skeptical about Turkey’s political conduct, and asked to be informed of the latest developments in the issue of the two Greek military officers, who are still kept in custody in the neighboring country.
