Following the successful edition “Platforms Project – Independent Art Fair 2017”, which featured 42 artistic platforms from 17 countries, offering the opportunity to thousands of visitors to learn more about the independent art scene, the Platforms Project returns for the sixth consecutive year.
From the 17th to the 20th of May, this major art gathering features a rich and multifaceted program of lectures, videos and performances and aims at presenting the local and international independent art scene. The four-day event presents the artworks produced by Greek and international art collectives and artists who gather together in order to find solutions to contemporary artistic questions.
This year’s Platforms Project will be the largest meeting of artistic collectives and platforms compared to previous editions and will feature 56 platforms from 17 countries from 41 cities and more than 600 artists.
As an “incubator” for young artists where experimentation, research and the structure of artistic identity is a continuous aim, the exhibition space of the Athens School of Fine Arts is the ideal choice for the Platforms Project. The project is curated by Artemis Potamianou and Michalis Argyrou.
