During the 83rd Thessaloniki International Fair, Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras announced a series of measures which will restore the injustices of the memoranda without, however, violating the goals that have been set in common with the Institutions for the coming years.

Among the most significant interventions, the Prime Minister announced a gradual reduction of the Single Property Tax to 50% for almost 1.2 million properties, while the tax structure will be changed to make it more proportionate with heavier taxation on large real estate.

Also, as of 1/1/19 the insurance contributions of freelancers with an income of over 7,000 euros will be reduced by up to 35%, while a corresponding reduction will also apply to farmers.

In addition, business taxation (currently from 29% to 25%) will gradually decrease by 4% until 2022.

From 2021 a reduction in VAT rates will be promoted while the procedures for raising the minimum wage will be triggered immediately.
