In an exclusive interview with French newspaper “Le Figaro”, Greek Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras stressed that Greece has paid the price in the European crisis and the Greek people, in particular, have made great sacrifices during the last seven years, as many mistakes have been made both by the Greek and the European side. Greece presents 2% growth in 2017, while for 2018 there is a forecast of 2.5%, and the Greek government is working hard together with the European partners for this “adventure” to come to an end in August 2018, said Mr. Tsipras.
Referring to Europe, the Greek Premier stated that European institutions should become more democratic and that decisions cannot be made behind closed doors. “We also have a common perspective that Europe cannot move forward in a climate of chauvinism and nationalism. We must protect and, at the same time, share our sovereignties”, he added.
