“A cycle of progress has closed and a new, more hopeful cycle opens after the quadripartite Summit of Greece-Bulgaria-Serbia-Romania,” Greek Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras stressed during the joint statements with Bulgarian PM Boyko Borisov, Romanian PM Viorica Dăncilă and Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić. “I believe that a new dynamic future lies ahead, as long as we have vision for our region and dare take steps of progress, even against the mainstream tendencies,” Mr. Tsipras said, adding, “Only by taking these steps we will be able to set the foundation for European, democratic Balkans that will not be based on nationalism, irrational fear, introversion or inactiveness, but on co-development and cooperation.”

As the Greek Premier said, the four leaders stressed their support to international law, as the framework based on which cooperation and dialogue must be established. The four leaders talked mainly about the positive prospects in the broader area, in the sectors of economy, transport and infrastructure.
