Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras addressed the Greek people on the occasion of the historic day of exiting the memoranda from Ithaca, a place of special symbolism.

In his message, the Prime Minister stressed that the contemporary “Odyssey” of the memoranda has come to an end and that our country regains its right to define its own future.

Regarding what follows next, the Prime Minister stressed that, at the beginning of this new era, the lessons of the harsh period of the memoranda are not to be ignored or forgotten.

“We will proceed with caution and responsibility in order not to return to deficits and bankruptcy, but we will also take bold steps towards the rebirth of Greece, for a homeland of equality, democracy and social justice” concluded the Prime Minister.
