Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras is in London today, participating in the works of the Western Balkans Summit, which is being held under the so-called “Berlin Process”, an initiative launched by German Chancellor Angela Merkel in 2014.

It is the first time that a Greek Prime Minister is invited to participate in this Summit.

The Berlin Process is an important forum where interconnectivity projects, infrastructure in the sectors of energy, transport and youth from the Western Balkan countries co-operation are being discussed.

Its members are Serbia, Montenegro, Albania, FYROM, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kosovo, as well as some EU Member States with significant influence in the region, such as France, Germany, the United Kingdom, Italy, Austria, Slovenia, Croatia and now Greece.
