There are political and criminal responsibilities stemming from an audit of the Hellenic Center for Disease Control and Prevention (KEELPNO) for the 2007-2014 period that uncovered 90 million euros of missing funds, said the office of Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras on Friday.

"It is now obvious that some people have political and criminal responsibilities and need to explain themselves to the Greek people and to justice," said the premier's office in a statement.

"From the auditor’s report on investigating gaps in the annual reports submitted by KEELPNO to the Health Ministry every year between 2007-2014, it was found that 90 million euros have disappeared," it said.
