President of the Republic Prokopios Pavlopoulos described on Saturday poet Kostas Krystallis as one of the most pure and characteristic forms in the history of Greek poetry, at the occasion of the 150 years from the birth of the poet at the village of Syrrako, near central Greece's Ioannina.

Via his vast work, Krystallis reminded Greeks in his era of the importance of popular culture and the value of the language of the people, of the Demotic language, said Pavlopoulos.
