14 refugees have camped in Syntagma Square on Wednesday having started a hunger strike demanding reunification with their families. At a press conference thay have stated that some 4,500 refugees are waiting to reunite with their families that are already in Germany for up to two years now.

Among the refugees who remain trapped in Greece are unaccompanied children, elderly people, sick people, people with disabilities as well as victims of torture.

The refugees are calling on the Greek and German authorities to respect the legal limit of six months for the completion of family reunification, to schedule flights for the transfer of refugees whose request has been accepted, and for the Greek authorities to pay for their transfer tickets to Germany.
