Some 80 percent of disputes that reach the Hellenic Consumers' Ombudsman are resolved within three months, said the head of the independent authority on Wednesday. Speaking to a parliamentary committee, ombudsman Lefteris Zagoritis said that 9,757 cases reached the consumer affairs group in 2017 and that this number is set to exceed the 11,000 mark this year.

The important thing here is that the solution does not cost consumers anything and they are spared the burden of resorting to court action, he said.
