On the occasion of the lighting of the Olympic flame for the Winter Olympics of 2018, which will be held in South Korea, South Korean Prime Minister Lee Nak-yeon is visiting Greece on Monday and will meet with his Greek counterpart Alexis Tsipras. The two Premiers will discuss the opening up of the bilateral cooperation in sectors such as high technology, shipyards, agricultural and food products, and e-governance. To this end, a Greek-Korean business forum will also be held, and will be attended by representatives of major Korean companies, such as Hyundai and Samsung.
The two Premiers will also discuss issues of inter-university cooperation, as well as foreign policy issues mainly focused on the latest developments in Greece’s broader region and in the Korean Peninsula. After the talks, Alexis Tsipras and Lee Nak-yeon are expected to sign a memorandum of understanding.
