The City of Athens Technopolis is organizing workshops on street arts on Sunday, May 27, both for children and adults. From 11 am to 2 pm, the participating children will have the opportunity to explore the magical world of circus, the art of graffiti, street dance, capoeira and architecture.
“The architects of the factory”, at 11.00
Architectural/visual workshop by the Industrial Museum of Gaz
What is the shape do the factory’s buildings? How many of us “fit” into a chimney? In this workshop, everyone becomes an architect. The program is aimed at children from 3 to 8 years old and their parents and lasts about 60 ‘.
“Circus Techniques Workshop” by the Athens Circus instructors, at 11.00
The children come in contact with the magical world of circus and learn to balance and handle everything that jugglers and acrobats use in their work. The program is aimed at children from 7 to 12 years old and their parents and lasts about 60 ‘.
“Enlivening the city,” a graffiti workshop by the group Imaginary Rooms, at 11.00 for children from 4 to 8 years old and 12.00 for children from 7 to 12 years old.
Athens is a city filled with graffiti and street art. In this workshop, children are inspired by the diversity of the city’s walls in order to paint a myriad of little doodles on all of Technopolis’ surfaces.
“Capoeira Street Roda“, capoeira lab from Abada-Capoeira, at 12.00
This workshop features the Brazilian tradition of the “roda”, whereby the Brazilians form a circle in which they play traditional Brazilian musical instruments, sing and perform the capoeira. The program is aimed at children aged 6 to 12 and lasts about 60 ‘.
“The street dancers“, street dance performance by Artfygio in collaboration with the group A(r)ct, at 12.00
The dancers have decided to bring their art to the streets. The program is aimed at families and lasts about 60 ‘.
“Circus Kids“, a circus performance from the Athens Circus children’s section, at 13.00
In this workshop, children create choreographies, balance and play with circus accessories. The show is aimed at families with children from 2 years of age and up and lasts about 80 ‘.
