“The MACBETH couple is the eternal reference point of lust, and of passion for power. The procedures of conquest are vaguely prescribed in the before and after this savage “house” whose history Shakespeare wrote, recording with psychoanalytic mastery the underground and occult paths that the mind turns into actions”: With these words, playwright Panagiotis Mentis, who returns to the Art Theater following the success of “Adamantia”, introduces his new work, a political, psychological thriller about the modern European political reality and the awaited post-democracy, based on Shakespeare’s “Macbeth”.

Set in the immediate future, and at the same time in the dark Middle Ages, the rise to power, the ascension to the throne or to party leadership have for centuries followed the same rules.
