BRUSSELS (ANA/M. Aroni) --- "Belgian authorities are conducting non-systematic police checks at Brussels airport, according to risk assessments," a European Commission spokesperson stated on Thursday, talking to the Athens Macedonian News Agency (ANA).
"This is what we were told by Belgian authorities," the Commission spokesperson noted, saying a query had been put to Belgian authorities by Commission services, in response to complaints from Greek travellers at Brussels airport.
This is information we have from Belgian authorities, said the representative, following a query posed by the Commission's agencies on the occasion of Greek travellers complaints at Brussels' airport. The EU representative pointed out that, according to the Schengen border code, police checks are allowed and even encouraged instead of full border controls.
