On Monday, August 20, the ESM program supporting Greece’s economy is officially concluded. Greece has successfully exited the three-year support program, which was concluded in August 2015 for the country to be able to tackle the consequences of the national debt crisis.

Greece has disbursed 61.9 billion euros in total from the ESM in three years, to support its fiscal adjustment and the recapitalization of the banks. Another 24.1 billion euros, which were available to the Greek government within the scope of the support program, needed not to be disbursed.
