A meeting between Prime Ministers Tsipras and Zaev on the name of our neighboring country is being held today in Sofia,  on the sidelines of the EU – Western Balkans Summit.

At the Preparatory Session of the European Socialist Party, the two prime ministers appeared optimistic about the outcome of today’s meeting.

“We have made many steps forward, but there is still a long way to go,” statedthe Greek prime minister stressing that the last few meters of the way are always the most difficult ones.

For his part, Prime Minister Zaev spoke of “a positive moment, to confirm what has been achieved so far”.

Government sources point out that everything is judged by the willingness of the Skopje side to implement the erga omnes demanded by the Greek government which, in effect, will mean consensus to change the constitution of the neighboring country.
