Barcelona-based Volotea will expand its winter schedule with another three or four flights a day from Athens to Santorini, Iraklio, Mykonos and Venice, it said on Thursday.

The airline has eight destinations departing Athens: Santorini, Mykonos and Iraklio in Greece, and Venice, Bari, Genoa, Palermo and Verona in Italy.

The airline opened its Athens hub in May, with 30 staff, and within six months more than tripled the number of its passengers, it said. In May it inaugurated popular flights from Athens to Iraklio and Verona.
