Two persons of unknown identity, who came up as clients, murdered lawyer Michalis Zafeiropoulos, 52 years old, in cold blood at his office, at the center of Athens, on Thursday evening. According to the information so far, the two culprits had a scheduled meeting with the victim, and shot him several times thus killing him in the office meeting room. A coworker of the victim, who was at the office at the time of the incident, stated that the clients were probably foreigners, since they did not speak good Greek, and that their faces were uncovered.
Police sources state that, according to the first clues, the murder was not a terrorist attack but it was connected with a criminal law issue. Zafeiropoulos, father of two, was the son of the former New Democracy MP Epameinondas Zafeiropoulos, and engaged in economic cases.
