A 15% of jobs in the public sector will be filled by persons with disabilities, Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras said on Friday, in a special event to honour the members of the Greek mission to the 2016 Rio Paralympics.

Tsipras announced that the relevant bill will be submitted to Parliament in the next few days.

Addressing the athletes with disabilities, the Greek Premier underlined that the measure serves as a ” tangible support to your daily struggle, but also a constant reminder to society that you are not second-class citizens,” adding that the quality and the morals of a country are primarily reflected in the treatment of its most vulnerable members.
