The Drama Short Film Festival turns forty years old, and celebrates the occasion starting from today to September 23, in a program that holds surprises and this year’s best films.

This year setting a record for submissions the 40th Drama Greek Short Films Festival gets ready to once again meet the young short film entrepreneurs, as well as those who insist on shorts, treating them rightfully as an art form in its own right.

The economic and immigration crises continue to trouble some of the young creators, but new themes have emerged in this year’s productions: old age, animal abuse and social problems related to gender identity seem to take center stage -without comedies and fantasy movies being eclipsed.

In total, this year’s event features 161 movies from 54 countries.
