Lightning struck the area of Erechtheion on the Acropolis hill, Wednesday afternoon, lightly injuring four people who were hit by fragments of broken glass.

About 100 lightning strikes fell in the capital, one of which hit Acropolis, slightly injuring two guards and two tourists, a Korean and a Finnish.
The competent authorities decided the closure of the archaeological site for the rest of the day for security reasons, while today the northern section of the Acropolis will be closed.
In addition, the Ministry of Culture announced that no damage had been done to the archaeological site’s monuments.
