The speeches of the political leaders on the first day of the debate on the vote of confidence in the government, which ends today at midnight by roll call, took place in a particularly tense atmosphere.
Opening the debate, Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras called for “clean solutions” and asked the MPs to assume their responsibilities.
At the same time, he denounced the aggression attempts, the threats, the extortion and the terrorizing of the deputies who have expressed their intention to do their patriotic duty and vote with their conscience.
The leader of the opposition, Kyriakos Mitsotakis, spoke of a false divorce between SYRIZA and ANEL, and accused the government of giving the Skopjans the Macedonian identity and language, which is not part of the national line.
“Anyone who gives a vote of confidence to the government, votes YES to the Prespes agreement,” said the opposition leader.
